These special conditions are issued for the Embraer Model CBA-123 airplane. This is a new 19 passenger transport category airplane with a unique aft mounted turboprop propulsion system having pusher propellers. This is a novel and unusual design feature when compared to the state of technology envisioned in the airworthiness standards for transport category airplanes in the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR). These special conditions contain the additional safety standards which the Administrator considers necessary to establish a level of safety equivalent to that established by the existing airworthiness standards.
