These special conditions are issued for the British Aerospace Model BAe.146 Series 300A airplane. Some versions of this airplane will have a novel or unusual design feature associated with the use of the landing gear door as an assist means during an emergency evacuation. The applicable airworthiness regulations do not contain adequate or appropriate safety standards for this particular design feature. These special conditions contain the additional safety standards which the Administrator finds necessary to establish a level of safety equivalent to that established by the airworthiness standards of part 25 of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
