The German Research Centre for Aeronautics and Space (DLR) is the Federal Republic of Germany's research center for aeronautics and space. It conducts research and development in aeronautics, space, energy, transport, security, and digitalisation. The German Space Agency at DLR plans and implements the national space programme on behalf of the federal government. DLR also oversees project management agencies that manage funding programmes and support knowledge transfer. With 55 research institutes and facilities, DLR aims to develop solutions for global challenges in climate, mobility, and technology, and to strengthen Germany's position as a prime location for research and industry.
