This AD was prompted by a report of a quality escape for certain high-pressure compressor (HPC) stage 5 blisks manufactured from a single forged ingot with a nonconforming indication. This AD requires replacement of certain HPC stage 5 blisks with parts eligible for installation. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
