On October 14, 2016, a Cessna C500 (Citation) departed Kelowna Airport (CYLW) at 0510 Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) for a flight to Calgary/Springbank Airport (CYBW), with a pilot and three passengers aboard. Shortly after departure, the aircraft disappeared off the radar and impacted terrain about 11 miles north of Kelowna Airport. All 4 occupants on board sustained fatal injuries. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Canadian government. This report is for information purposes only and contains only information released by or obtained from the Canadian government.
