On August 9, 2026, at about 1655 central daylight time, an experimental amateur-built Avid Mark IV, N77FB, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Arp, Texas. The private pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to witnesses, the accident airplane and a second airplane had landed in a grass field earlier in the afternoon.
