On April 8, 2025, about 1459 central daylight time, a Cassutt III M airplane, N5RR, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Haskell, Oklahoma. The pilot was fatally injured. The aircraft was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. A witness stated that he was standing in front of the accident pilot’s hangar and had observed the pilot complete two or three laps around the airport traffic pattern. On the final lap, he said the pilot flew the length of the runway at about 100 feet above the ground and then saw the airplane pitch nose …
