A Hoskins Model MK III (Twilighter) Anti-Collision Lighting System is installed in accordance with Hoskins Top Drawing 10-0043-1, Revision I as amended on December 21, 1972, or later FAA approved revision. The Anti-Collision Lighting System has been found to meet the Anti-Collision Light Standards of FAR 25.1401 in effect prior to August 11, 1971. Hoskins FAA Approved AFM supplement date December 6, 1972 is required with this modification. Held by Bf Goodrich Aerospace, which holds 139 approved modifications in all. What an approved modification is
A supplemental type certificate is the FAA's approval of a change to a certified design: a new engine or propeller, avionics, an autopilot, floats, a parachute, a larger fuel tank, an ice-protection kit. The company holding it may sell the kit and the paperwork to owners of the listed models; the modification then becomes part of that aircraft's record. The FAA's list says what was approved and for which models, not how many aircraft carry it.
