LAX05TA277Accident on August 23, 2005 at Elko, NV: minor injuries, substantial damage.

Aircraft on the NTSB record: Wsk Pzl Mielec M-18A · serial 1Z023-03

the pilot's failure to adequately plan for the wind direction and speed during a fire retardant delivery flight, which led to a loss of true airspeed, failure to attain a proper climb rate, and the in-flight collision with mountainous terrain. Contributing factors were the high, gusty, tailwind conditions.

CHI04TA193Accident on July 12, 2004 at Pine Ridge, SD: no injuries, substantial damage.

Aircraft on the NTSB record: Pzl-Mielec M-18T · serial 1Z023-03
