NTSB accident and incident record under N1018J

LAX94FA309Accident on August 6, 1994 at Mohave Valley, AZ: fatal, destroyed (3 fatal).

Aircraft on the NTSB record: Aero Commander 112 · serial 18

Failure of the certified flight instructor to properly judge the flare to avert a hard landing, and the failure of other maintenance personnel to properly repair the engine case halves during engine overhaul. A factor in the accident was the uneven relief of the desert terrain.
