On August 25, 2016, at 0651 universal coordinated time, a Yakolev YAK-11, US registration N111YK, crashed under unknown circumstances in Speyer, Germany. The pilot was fatally injured and the airplane was destroyed. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the German government.
