On March 20, 2016, at 1745 coordinated universal time (UTC), an experimental amateur built York Laser Z-200 airplane, Dutch registered PH-LSR, was destroyed when it impacted terrain under unknown circumstances near Abbeyshrule, County Longford, Ireland. The private rated pilot, who was the sole occupant, was fatally injured. The flight originated from the Abbeyshrule Aerodrome (EAIB) at an unknown time. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Irish Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU). This report is for informational purposes only and contains only information released by or obtained from the AAIU.
